Alfredo Pasta w/ Mellow

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 cup finely diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup finely diced carrots
1/2 cup finely diced celery
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup beef or vegetable broth
2 tbsp Zetun Essential Olive Oil (for cooking)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
12 oz pasta (spaghetti or your preferred choice)
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
2 tbsp Zetun Punchy Olive Oil (for finishing)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat Zetun Essential Olive Oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add diced onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes until softened.

Add ground beef or turkey to the pan. Cook and break up the meat with a spoon until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, broth, bay leaf, and oregano. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

Meanwhile, cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
‍
Remove the bay leaf from the sauce. Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed to coat the pasta evenly.

Plate the pasta and drizzle with Zetun Punchy Olive Oil. Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
